Community Norms

Establish the community guidelines & contract for discussion:

  1. Be fully present.
  2. Confidentiality – Respect our space and the honesty and openness of others by protecting identities; exercise trust and discretion.
  3. Speak from the "I" perspective. Speak only for yourself.
  4. Be self-responsible and self-challenging.
  5. Listen, listen, listen and process.
  6. Lean into discomfort. Don’t be afraid of saying something wrong.
  7. Experiment with new behaviors to expand your range of response.
  8. Agree to disagree – prolonged disagreement maybe counter-productive.
  9. Take risks, be raggedy, make some mistakes, then let go.
  10. Accept conflict and its resolution as a necessary catalyst for learning.
  11. Be comfortable with silence.
  12. Suspend judgment of yourself and others.
  13. Be crisp; say what's core.
  14. Create positive energy – remember to share openly and be supportive.
