The Program for the Study of LGBT Health hosts a series to provide a forum for discussion of LGBT-related research and clinical issues on various topics relevant to the health, mental health, and wellbeing of LGBT individuals, families, and communities.
The LGBT Health Series, held about twice montly, includes both clinical and research topics. On clinical subjects, health professionals present vignettes from their active practice with LGBT patients, discuss the challenges they encounter, and the implications for future care and research. (The identities of specific clients remain strictly confidential And some identifying details are omitted or changed as part of the presentation.) On research topics, investigators present their research projects in LGBT health, discuss the methodological challenges encountered, and review study findings.
Unless otherwise noted, events are open to the public and take place at the New York State Psychiatic Institute (NYSPI, 1051 Riverside Drive, NYC), Room 4002, from 1:30-3:30pm.
